Will Senna help mental constipation?

Blocked.  Writers block I suppose would be the term associated with this mental constipation I have been suffering. No amount of fiber can cause a release of this awful stoppage plaguing me at this time. It seems that there is so much to write about, but no word come to fruition to accomplish a decent post. I’ve considered my back up to be due to the lack of televised news in my mental diet now, but not so, since I’ve dabbled a little in radio news. Maybe it’s the lack of real news that’s the culprit.

Maybe this mental constipation is due in part to the constant beating we take daily by the news on president Obama’s healthcare initiative’s journey through congress. No wonder the journey is so long, there are five different bills floating around with thousands of pages that no congress person or senator is really reading. They’re just sitting on the talking head’s shows and pontificating on things they’ve been told and not because they’ve actually read it for themselves. Has anyone really asked why president Obama is forcing the government backed healthcare bill, rather than seeking to put doctors back in charge of healthcare instead of insurance magnates? Is he letting us know he will not be creating jobs in the future? With good jobs, comes good healthcare. With doctors in charge, regulations on insurance companies, comes affordable healthcare.

What if the prognosis of my mental blockage is caused by this false since of change the president is putting on? For the first time ever a Supreme Court justice was not sworn in at the white house. Newly sworn in Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer  took the oath at the Supreme Court without the presence of the president, but with news cameras present for the first time. President Obama suggested the swearing in at the Supreme Court to symbolize the autonomy of the court. Yes, only a symbol. In this case the symbol is only a superficial show piece and not deep rooted change. So much for a change you can believe in. Aw shoot, let me be real, I’ve never believed the man anyway

Could it be that I’m just suffering from an internal fear of the swine flu? Oops, I mean H1N1, posted up in the back ground waiting for temperatures to drop so it can move in for the attack. At least that’s how the main stream news media is campaigning for the pharmaceutical companies. Watchout, its going to be worse than ever. All the major drug companies are racing for a vaccine, just in time for this fall. Its up to you if you want to take their poison, I certainly won’t be taking it. But, I may need something because my cerebral bowels could be suffering from oh so much verbal crapola being beamed into my psyche. I’ve work hard to avoid it but it just keeps seeping in.

Oh my aching head! Is there something I can take? Is there a flush for writers block caused by news Scrapple? Should I just wait it out and maybe something real will loosen up the mental bowels? Will Senna help mental constipation? Any suggestions?

LOL!! It hits the best of us!!

Go for a run, get some fresh air, cut back on the coffee - no have more coffee!!

Learn how to laugh at the stupidness around you - we got 3 1/2 to 8 more years of it.

I personally liked the thread you did on Black Indians - could you do some research and give us a rundown on what happened with the Seminole tribes of Florida that recently ruled that the half black members were no longer card carrying members?

That should get you flowing again...

LOL Tracy, good idea! That will probably get the good ole mental peristalsis moving again. I have not seen or read about the Seminoles excising the Black people from their governmental rolls (not unsual though). I will look into it, but I have to say the "lighter' bredren are simply circuling their wagons, motivated by the fear of not enough. I would say to Black people to not seek and search to be validated by a people who are only validated by the U.S. government via the Dawes Rolls. We are who we are and need no government validation. We should be looking to consolidate our own forces when and where possible.

I am glad you enjoyed those post and I will revisit the subject again. This time looking at the Florida Seminoles who are now part of the Bahamian population.

Can't wait!! And I agree about the validation points - some of the wanna-be woo woo's used their status to enter into the Great Better Than's.

But, I do feel sorry for the legitimate Seminoles - it is their history and culture also. And I notice that the Nation didn't say anything about the half white Seminoles not being pure enough.

Have fun !!

Well face it... you are an "ensayn" man, trying to bring a "rational" perspective to an "insane world"...lol!!!! No wonder you go through bouts of "mental constipation"! Sienna ain't gonna help. My advice is to go with a "Wray and Nephew" based rum punch! lol!!!!

I have come to realize that in this blogging game, there are some things, many things actually, that are media driven, which they classify as "news", that I don't need to waste my time contemplating nor commenting about. I therefore write on what moves me and I also set my own agenda on what I want to create for consumption.

I used to also think that I needed to write everyday. However in reality, I go through moments of lots of writing activity and also moments of not feeling like writing on anything. I have come to appreciate both moments and even when I'm not writing, I am reading books, mags, blogs, etc; travelling; discussing issues with real, live people; watching films and/or just meditating on life. (Not to mention.... NFL is about to start so there will be lots of anguish as I follow my Raiders again this year!) Then I get a rush of inspiration, a sense of clarity or perspective and I start to write again.

Stay real my brother. You're articles are not only original and informative, they are also inspirational to me. AND as I recommended above, a "Wray and Nephew" rum punch is the preferred cure for mental constipation! lol!

Much love and blessings!

@Tracy, I feel you, its unfortunate that people like Henry "Skip" Gates have help to down play the legitimacy of Indigenous Black people of the Americas on his DNA special. This works in two ways; it allows the belief that there are Black Seminoles only because they are former slaves of the lighter skinned Seminoles which grows in the minds of the Black Seminoles (Cherokee, Choctaw,Nanticoke,...) like a cancer. The other gives fodder to the lighter "Indians" to dismantle and delete Black people from their government rolls. Though they may be removed from the government rolls they cannot remove the history and culture.

@Asa, Wray and Nephew!!!! That will free a lot of thought up LOL. And especially a nice glass of Sorrell! Thanks for coming by my brotha! I will take that suggestion fa sho!

@ Victor:

Exactly!! All Seminoles walked side by side when they were excised from their lands at the 'Trail of Tears". They worked side by side when they resettled.

From what I have heard, this is all about rationing out of more government money. Now that the worst is over, the "real" Indians don't want to divvy up the "spoils" with the slaves.

Keep your money - just leave the heritage alone. If I am misconstruing anything tho, please let me know. Just going by the bits and pieces that I have heard along the way.
