February is Reggae Music Month!
I couldn't allow the month to pass without mentioning that this month is Reggae Music month along side Black History Month! Reggae Music was spread across the globe by the world famous Robert Nesta Marley BKA Bob Marley and his legacy has opened the world to what I feel is the most popular music in the world today. Reggae comes in various forms, Foundation, Roots, Dub, Rock Steady, Lovers Rock, Dancehall and also gave birth to Hip Hop. Of course all these sounds are intertwined and we cannot truley draw a distinctive line and say which gave birth to which. Did Mento give birth to Ska? Or was it the Nyabhingi drumming that lead to Ska, to Reggae? Or did the influence of Soul music of the U.S. birth dub music made popular by Sir Coxsone Dodd? Maybe The Blues is the mother of most music created and growing in the world today. One thing for sure we will continue to get some of the best lyrics that face off with the powers that be, in Reggae/Dancehall and their little sister Hip Hop . The music is quite varied and I don't have space to include all those that I love. One love, peace and Inity. Let us acknowledge Jamaica where the sound truely was born and has emerged to be a force in the world since the Grammy's, the American Music Awards and other such nonsense awards give the likes of Amy Winehouse nuff air time but ignore Queen Omega, Alaine, Tanya Stephens and all the queens of Reggae music.

I love 'Lover's Rock'! I really like Louisa Marks but her music is really hard to find. They don't have it on itunes yet.
Big Ups to Reggae Music!!!!! :-)
I think she is British. She is known as the Queen of Lover's Rock.
@BHC, Never late. Too bad we lost Lucky Dube last year, but we still have Luciano, Richie Spice, I Wayne and a whole lot more.
