STRICTLY FOR MY ATLiens....TSPLOST!!!

File:Atlanta Montage 2.jpg

Right off the rip I knew something didn't smell right.  It is as obvious as the day is long, and days are long here in the ATL.  But, let me back up a bit on this TSPLOST business.   State Senator Vincent D. Fort came out swinging against it.  I immediatly thought to myself "what is his angle, he must be running for re-election again."  My thoughts, simply because I have a serious suspicion of politicians, be that as it may I thought he may have a point.  Soon I began to do a tiny bit of research.  Only a tiny bit because as I stated before something didn't smell right and I don't like digging around in smelly stuff.  My mother always said if you stir up sh*t it will stink, and I had no intention of dealing with what is straight out sh*t!

All of us that live in the Atlanta Metro Area know how heavy traffic can be.  In fact when I first came here I chocked it up to bad driving, I suppose that was my west coast mentality about driving.  But, I can to understand more that the heavy traffic is caused by just the culture of how people drive here.  Drivers don't like letting oncoming traffic to merge onto the freeway, as if it will slow their progress by what, a nano second? Drivers here drive slow for no apparent reason on the freeway.  If traffic is heavy, usually its because a few drivers in all lanes decide they want to move slow. Period.  Thats it.  Then there is the common fender bender that for whatever reason people will remain right in the middle of the freeway until the police show up.  No, no one hurt, they just stay there never pulling to the right for none injury accidents. Thats just the way it is here.  But, somehow passing the one or two penny tax (depends on the county you live as to how much you will be taxed) will soon lessen traffic in the "A", I don think so.

Congestion in the ATL is just a matter of life.  So many of us live so far from where we work, this is why we spend more time on the roads not really the congestion.  Kyle Wingfield writes in his July 13th article Taking a look at some Tsplost claims, notes a study by the Atlanta Regional Commissions found the projects that would be funded by Tsplost would cut congestion by 24%.  Cutting congestion in the ATL amounts to about 2.5 minutes a day.  So, lets do some math.  Spend one or two pennies every time you shop will get you less than three minutes on your daily commute, to and from work or school.  Eight billion bucks saves you less than one minute each way every day.  Ok, maybe I am not so good at math, maybe.  But, I can smell pretty well and here seems to be where it stinks the most.

Mayor of Atlanta Kasim Reed, CEO Burrell Ellis of Dekald County and Governor Nathan Deal are all in on pushing for Tsplost to pass.  Wait, Reed Democrat, Ellis Democrat, Deal Republican, WTH is this??? Democrats and Republicans agreeing on this issue.  This stinks.  There has to be no serious benefit for the people, the citizens of the Atlanta Metro Area.  From the very start, without ever doing any research, I knew something was not good for me and my neighbors at all.  Whenever Republicans and Democrats team up and want to work so hard to push something, it has never failed that we, the citizens come out on the short end of the stick.  They NEVER work for our good alone.  Huuummmm wonder if I can buy stock in the companies they are all invested in?????

WHY THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED...EL FIN~

File:Ground beef USDA.jpg

Revolution, what revolution?  Surely, those of the guns and bombs mentality are unaware that the war has begun.  A vital mistake has been and is being made by those waiting for a time to attack, to respond to conditions so atrocious that a response is demanded.  Sadly, that time has come and the guns and bombs revolutionaries are feasting to their own destruction without ever taking note.  They are being warred against through their mouths and we are under attack in the United States by the health and wellness industry.  The food chain has been tampered with and done with the compliance of the guns and bombs revolutionary types.

In the U.S. there are no labels notifying shoppers that the the cow, pig, chicken, turkey or fish have been genetically modified, fed chemicals for growth enhancement or been irradiated so that it can be sold even on the verge of decay beyond human consumption.  Not only are animal carcases being irradiated but, so are fruits and vegetables.  The food industry is on the front line in setting off a barrage of sorties against the people and there is no response by the people that believe that the only way to respond to a threat is by revolting, putting a violent stop to the oppression as is was once admonished by a fellow blogger.  Yet, being violently attacked, no response has been formed. In fact the revolutionary type does not even recognize that they are being attacked.

The revolution will not be televised simply because those that should respond to a violent attack, those that believe that a violent response is necessary to put down oppression are subdued from eating the poison of their oppressor.  They have failed miserably to even recognize the battlefield.  The revolution will not be televised because the oppressor buys millions of dollars worth of advertisement hours on the very same television news hours that would carry the revolt.  But, lastly and even more serious, there will be no revolution because the revolutionary, guns and bombs revolutionary, cannot revolt.  The would be revolutionary is too busy trying to keep their blood pressure down or keep their sugar down because they ate that pink slime filled cheesburger last night.  No they cannot respond in revolt.  They have  been attacked, subdued, overwhelmed and made ill by those they should be revolting against.  No, the revolution will not be televised, but not for the reasons that many of us believed when the song made it's debut.

WHY THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED II

The first volleys have been fired and still we are sleeping.  The subtle attack came as if it were a gift, like the Trojan Horse stratagem taken by the Greek soldiers to enter Troy and end that particular conflict.  Fast feed joints began to drop their prices starting with Wendy's and others soon after followed suit.  And the American population, all of the people, joined in on the low priced feast.   The corporatocracy began it's final assault on a battle field yet unknown to the revolutionary minds of the black population.  To this day I hear them talk of war and "taking it to the street" ready for a battle of that type that may never come.

Just recently I was speaking with a brotha that told me that he had just returned from participating on a lecture circuit in Kenya.  It was his first trip to the Mother Land, and he was pleasantly surprised to see great urban centers and the lack of a "jungle" as many in the U.S. are led to believe Africa is.  During the conversation, I quizzed him on whether he lectured here locally and he said he did not.  He said that most of the people here, lecturing, were weak and did no want to confront the situation.  From his perspective, the whole Trans Atlantic Slave Trade was a criminal act and those responsible had to pay.  His whole demeanor spoke of revolution.  That these people here did not want to take it to the "heads" of whitey.  Of course I questioned how he believed whites could come to Africa and take people against their will without the complicity of other Africans.  This is when our conversation ended.  And in fact this brotha, whom I see almost daily will not speak to me unless I speak first, in which I only receive in response a mild grunt.

Big Max

Thus, is the romanticized revolutionary.  Still dreaming of a day when he will be able to go to physical combat with "whitey" and yet, whitey is beating him all upside his head as the revolutionary dreams.  The battle as been joined and all my revolutionaries have yet to find the battle field to commence their counter attack.  But, they continue to dream due to a mental fog sent against them by their enemy, and the revolutionary cannot respond.

"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” Suntzu- The Art of War

Here in lies the problem for the revolutionary still dreaming of combat with "whitey."  The revolutionary is prepping for combat with arms while the battle is presently being waged in his stomach and mind.  The feed industry is leading the charge against the population, the whole U.S. population without mercy.  As the revolutionary oils his rifle and fills his belly with genetically modified organisms, he is losing the war.  7.62, 5.25, hollow point, and Teflon coated ammunition will not do for this war.  It is the mental ability to opt for proper food this is where the war is to be fought, not with guns and bombs.  There is a possibility that things could deteriorate to the point of physical combat, but the corner stone of any army is logistics.  How to supply the troops with proper victuals.

WHY THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED

Gil Scot Heron taught us many years ago that the revolution will not be televised.  We sang along with the tune and believed what brotha Heron sang about was certainly true.  We all came to our own conclusions as to why the revolution would not be televised, but we all agreed it would not be shown to the public.  When I first was able to comprehend the song (since I was too young to fully understand what was being sung when it was released) I concluded that the U.S. government would be so brutal in its response to smash the revolt that it would not want the world to see it's brutality.  Others in my circle believed that the government would block the televising of the revolution because they felt we would be winning and to spare the embarrassment, they would block the world from seeing their demise.

Both viewpoints were probably driven by the era we were living at the time.  The song was released in the 1970's and we didn't really come into comprehension until almost a decade later.  Still young and dreaming, we believed there would be a revolution and for whatever reason it would not be televised.  Our imaginations, built on the images of the Black Panther Party, were that there would be actual combat in the streets against the front line of the government starting with the police department.  The San Diego Police were (and probably still are) one of the most brutal police departments in the country and we believed this is who the first battle would begin with and of course the same would occur  in every city. The police, we believed, would be the first to receive the primary volley of combat.  Yet, the government and big business had a trick for us all.

By the mid to late 1980's the $.99 menu began to appear first at fast feed restaurants.  You could save a bunch of money by getting a meal for as low as three to four dollars.  Heck,  you could feed a family of five with 10 bucks.   Some chains resisted the pricing, but later fell in line.  As more and more chains gravitated to the new low pricing the "news" picked up on it and cleverly reported that the new low prices at fast feed restaurants was a temporary measure to rebuff Ronald Reagan's recession (depression for the rest of us.) Little did we know this was the first volley in the war against the U.S. population.  We were so caught up in the belief that we needed to be prepared for conventional combat that we never saw the war begin.

Oppression and destruction have taken on it's most heinous form. Attacking the senses. Combat is taking place against you and you never knew it.  The assault on us was is so subtle that we do not realize we are at war.  Each day we are assaulted by the enemy, blind sided and yet we don't respond.  No response from the population.  All of the most revolutionary brothas are preparing for physical combat and yet losing the war.
